The IO parallel port of the ArcadeIT! mainboard can be uses as a multi-purpose input/output port.
It's organized in a 8 bit bus that can be configurable as input or output or mixed directions. Moreover, there are two lines that combined lets you use them to select four different devices to address the 8 bit word.
A "Strobe" signal can be used as an handshake between the ArcadeIT and the external device.
As a normal application this port is used to connect arcade joypads/Gamepads thanks to the special JOY9 module of the ArcadeIT! line.
